Celebrating Blockstream's subversive takeover of Bitcoin in 2017 as a win against corporatocracy is absolutely wild. Their manipulation of most Bitcoin spaces on the internet at the time via extraordinarily comprehensive censorship measures should have been your first hint.

I'm grateful to Bitcoin for funding my early retirement but it died in 2017 as far as I am concerned. I prefer to remember it that way.

It's mentioned in the blog, i.e.: "This is precisely what happened in 2017: signalling sat far below the threshold for months, and then miners moved fast right at the deadline. So the honest reading is not “dead in the water” — it is “strong and fast-growing conviction among nodes and users, while the miners keep their powder dry and wait to see whether the economic weight behind this is real.” That asymmetry — users out ahead, miners watching — is the 2017 setup almost exactly. Saylor has published a long case against BIP-110; Adam Back and Jameson Lopp warn it risks a chain split."

I agree that since 2017 Bitcoin was badly damaged and it's still bleeding badly till these days but it's not dead yet. I do really believe with majority of plebs running full nodes that BIP110 can still save it. Blackrock, Blockstream, Citrea and other Epstein clients will be hardforked like Bitcoin Cash to run their JPEG, CSAM, BitVM and other scams in their own centralized shitcoin pedo-circle.
